The challenge
The home's older windows had become stiff and awkward to open, leaked air around the sashes, and their thick frames and dividers chopped up the view. The homeowners wanted windows that were genuinely easy to operate, brought in real ventilation, sealed tight against drafts and let them actually see out.
What we did
We replaced the tired units with Energy Star vinyl casement windows. Casements crank outward on a smooth mechanism so they open fully for maximum airflow — and because the sash presses against the frame as it closes, they seal tighter than a typical double-hung. We measured each opening, set every unit square, insulated and flashed the perimeters, and chose slim-frame units with Low-E argon glass for a clean, largely unobstructed view. Clean trim finished each one inside and out.
The result
Windows that are effortless to open with a turn of the handle, pull in a real cross-breeze, and seal up tight and drafts-free when closed. The slim frames and dual-pane Low-E glass deliver clearer views and better efficiency, and the homeowners noticed a more comfortable, quieter home right away. Whole job done clean in two days.
