The challenge
The home's painted wood siding had reached the end of its repaint cycle — chipping along the south wall, soft trim at the rakes and a homeowner tired of scraping and repainting every few years. They wanted the look of crisp wood lap siding permanently, plus the durability to stand up to PA storms and the occasional errant baseball.
What we did
We removed the old wood siding and damaged trim, inspected and dried in the sheathing, and wrapped the home in a fresh weather-resistant barrier with proper flashing at every window and door. We then installed James Hardie HardiePlank lap siding in a Cedarmill texture, set to a consistent reveal with blind-nailed courses for a clean face. Custom-bent aluminum trim wrapped the windows, rakes and fascia, with charcoal accents to frame the Arctic White boards.
The result
A classic colonial that now carries a maintenance-free, fire-resistant exterior with the warmth of real wood lap — color baked through the board, with the manufacturer's own finish and substrate coverage. No more scraping, no more repainting, and a noticeably crisper, more current look from the curb.
