Why a storm door

The small upgrade that does a lot of jobs.

  • Added Insulation
  • Fresh-Air Ventilation
  • Quality Workmanship

A storm door is one of the highest-value, lowest-cost exterior upgrades there is. It adds an insulating air gap in front of your entry door to cut drafts in winter, swaps to a screen so you can pull in a breeze in summer, and shields your expensive entry door from sun, rain and wear — all for a fraction of the cost of a new front door.

We install full-view doors that show off the entry door behind them, ventilating doors with sliding or retractable screens for airflow, and heavier-duty models for high-traffic entries. Aluminum and steel frames in a range of finishes match the door and trim, with self-closers, secure latches and pet-friendly options available.

The fit is what makes a storm door feel solid instead of flimsy. Our in-house crews size the door to the opening, hang it square so it closes flush and latches cleanly, and adjust the closer so it doesn't slam or drift — a small job done right, finished with careful, quality workmanship.

Storm Doors FAQ

Storm door questions, answered.

Thinking about adding a storm door? Call us at (802) 321-3332 — happy to talk it through.

It helps. A storm door adds an insulating pocket of air in front of your entry door, which reduces drafts and heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. It also protects the entry door itself, extending its life.

A full-view door is mostly glass to show off the entry door, with screens you swap in seasonally or retract. A ventilating door has built-in sliding or self-storing screens so you can switch between glass and screen any time without storing panels. We'll match it to how you'll use it.

In almost all cases, yes — storm doors mount to the existing door frame and come in standard sizes we fit to your opening. We measure to make sure it closes flush and latches cleanly.

Not when it's installed right. We fit an adjustable closer and, where helpful, a wind chain or hold-open so the door shuts gently and resists gusts.

Most storm doors are installed in a single visit, often within a few hours. We give you a firm schedule with your quote.
