Warm wood-tone composite, picture-framed, with wide steps wrapping the front corner onto the paver patio.
A low composite platform deck and wraparound steps that opened a Yardley sunroom onto the patio.
A warm wood-tone composite platform deck built off the sunroom, sitting low and clean over a paver patio with wide steps wrapping the front corner. Picture-framed boards, a freshly engineered frame underneath, and no annual staining — built by our own crew.
From a step-down off the sunroom to a clean, patio-level deck.
The challenge
The sunroom opened onto an old paver patio with an awkward drop and nowhere comfortable to step out and stand. The homeowners wanted a low, generous deck that tied the sunroom to the patio and yard — warm-looking, easy underfoot, and without the upkeep of a wood deck going gray every season.
What we did
We tore out the old surface, set frost-depth footings and framed a fresh, level, code-built platform low to the ground off the sunroom. On top we laid warm wood-tone capped composite, picture-framed with a border board so every edge reads finished. Wide steps wrap the front corner down onto the paver patio, making the deck easy to enter from two sides and giving the whole thing a designed, grounded look.
The result
A low, inviting platform deck that connects the sunroom, patio and yard into one usable space — warm wood-tone composite that won't splinter or need staining, clean wraparound steps, and a properly engineered frame underneath. A simple footprint, executed crisp and square, that the family uses every day.

What went into this deck.
Warm capped composite over a freshly engineered low frame — the structure you don't see is what keeps the surface you do see solid and square.
Wood-tone capped composite
Fade- and stain-resistant composite boards in a warm wood tone — the look of timber with none of the sanding or staining, no staining ever.
Picture-frame border
A border board wrapping the field so every edge and board end reads clean and finished, not cut-off.
Wraparound corner steps
Wide steps wrapping the front corner down to the paver patio, giving easy access from two sides and a grounded, designed look.
Code-built low frame
Frost-depth footings and a properly spanned, level frame built low to the ground — the part that makes a platform deck feel solid and last.
Composite platform decks in Yardley & Lower Bucks County
Not every deck needs to be tall or tiered — a lot of Yardley and Bucks County homes just need a clean, low platform that ties a sunroom or back door to the patio and yard. Built low and picture-framed in capped composite, it reads as a finished outdoor floor rather than a raised structure, and it skips the gray-and-splinter cycle of a wood deck entirely.
AVI Exteriors is based in Levittown and builds composite and platform decks across Lower Bucks County and South Jersey — Yardley, Newtown, Washington Crossing, Langhorne, New Hope and beyond. Every deck is engineered to code, permitted and built by our own crews, with careful, quality workmanship on top of the manufacturer coverage. If your back door opens onto nothing comfortable, we'd be glad to take a look and give you an honest, fixed quote.
“The step out of our sunroom was always awkward. AVI built a low composite deck with wraparound steps that connects everything — sunroom, patio, yard — and it looks great. Warm wood color, nothing to stain, and the whole thing feels rock solid underfoot.”
